Preceptor

Dr Onuma is a tertiary level specialist accepting direct referrals from primary care givers and complex referrals from other specialists in the areas of female urinary incontinence, female pelvic organ prolapse, labial reconstructive surgery and the surgical correction of vaginal wall relaxation related to sexual dysfunction.

Dr Onuma teaches trainees and specialists minimal access incontinence surgery , pelvic reconstructive surgery and advanced laparoscopic gynaecological surgery.

  • Dr Onuma is an invited participant and trainer on female pelvic floor and laparoscopic training meetings and provides Urodynamics assessments and reports for his own patients and those of other specialists.
  • Dr Onuma is the Australian and Asia-Pacific trainer in Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation for Innogyn (in association with The Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute Medical Associates).
  • Dr Onuma was the first Australian based surgeon trained in Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation and Designer Laser Vaginoplasty by Dr David Matlock in Los Angeles.
  • Dr Onuma has since pioneered surgery to improve sensation and reduce pain/discomfort during intercourse in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Dr Onuma has operated on women from every state in Australia (apart from the North Territories).
  • Women have traveled to Australia from the United States of America, China, Hong Kong, Macau, India and New Zealand to have their surgery performed by Dr Onuma in Adelaide, Australia.
  • Dr Onuma is on the 'Expert Witness' register of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
